As the Irish proverb tells us: “A good friend is like a four-leaf clover; hard to find and lucky to have.”
That’s how we at Farpointe Wealth Partners feel about our old friend Dave O’Neill joining our community of advisors.
Dave is a battle-tested veteran in the financial services arena. He worked at HD Vest for 22 years through four ownership changes, and did everything from being the chief compliance officer to running the banking platform before deciding to open his own wealth management firm – O’Neill Financial Group in Frisco, Texas – in 2011.
We’ve shared many great times with Dave over the years, and had a lot of fun building a world-class business together. My first case as General Counsel at HD Vest in 2004 was an arbitration where Dave testified as the firm’s compliance officer. I knew we were going to get along just fine when we wound up doing “witness prep” over beers at a local watering hole. Scott and I can’t wait to create many more great memories (and build another world-class business) with Dave in the years to come.
It is an understatement to say that we’re thrilled to have Dave as part of the Farpointe family. He is much more than an advisor in our community – he is a passionate advocate, valued counselor, and will enrich our platform and culture in prodigious and varied ways.
